Build a District Texting Plan with Vottiv

After your campaign’s SMS registration is approved, Vottiv can build a texting plan for your district. You choose a budget and review the proposed schedule. A Vottiv advisor then reviews the messages and images with you, and Vottiv schedules and sends the approved plan.

Open your plan

Look for Your texting plan is ready on your dashboard or the banner above the SMS message table. Open the plan to see the days until Election Day and the number of reachable voters in your district. Move the budget slider to see how the audience, messages, and dates change. The slider runs from $500 to $25,000; the opening recommendation is usually $3,000 to $8,000.

The plan may include a short Vottiv Poll to learn what matters to persuadable voters. Poll invitations cost 10¢ each. Other planned messages are priced at your organization’s current MMS (picture message) rate because most campaigns will want images with their texts. Your advisor can choose text-only sends where they make sense. The plan also waives Vottiv’s usual 1¢ per-message managed-send fee for the campaign messages it covers.

Review your drafts

Open Review your plan to see the first draft of each proposed message, the poll, recipients, and send dates. Draft preparation can take a little time. If you see Your drafts need another try, choose Try again. You can change any wording, link, call to action, or image with your advisor before Vottiv sends anything.

Fund the plan and speak with your advisor

When the budget and schedule look right, read the credit-purchase disclosure and choose Continue to checkout. Checkout purchases Vottiv credits equal to the budget you selected. After payment, the SMS banner shows that your plan is set up and provides a link to schedule your advisor call. Your advisor confirms the final messages, images, audience, and timing before Vottiv schedules the sends. If you have questions before paying, use Have questions? Schedule a call on the review screen.

Choosing Remind me later or closing the dashboard prompt snoozes it for four days for your own account in that organization. Don’t remind me again stops your prompt. Once an organization has a pending or completed plan payment, the popup stops for all of its admins. The SMS page banner remains available so you can open the plan status.
