Getting Started
Creating and Using a Volunteer Account
Signing Into Vottiv as a Volunteer
You need a personal Vottiv login and access to the campaign's team. Creating a login does not add you to a campaign. A campaign administrator must invite the email address that you use to sign in.
1. Give the campaign your email address
Ask a campaign administrator to add you to the team. Give them the email address you use, or plan to use, for Vottiv. If you sign in with Google, use that Google account's email address.
2. Open the latest invitation
Check your inbox and spam folder for the invitation email. Open the most recent invitation and select its button.
3. Create your login or sign in
- If you have never created a Vottiv login, select Accept invitation and complete signup. Use the invited email address. You can use Google or follow the email and password steps shown on the page.
- If you already have a Vottiv login, sign in with the invited email address and your usual sign-in method.
You do not need to create a new campaign to work as a volunteer. The invitation takes you to the campaign after you complete signup or sign-in.
If you sign up from the Vottiv website instead of the invitation, Vottiv still finds your team. A screen shows You already have access to and the campaign's name. Select Go to and the campaign's name to open it.
4. Open the campaign
If you have access to more than one organization, select the campaign you want to work with. The campaign administrator controls which tools you can use, such as canvassing, voter lookup, calling, and text messaging.
If you cannot sign in or see the campaign
- “Couldn't find your account”: Check the email address. If you have not created a login, open the latest invitation and use signup. If you already have a login, use its email address and sign-in method.
- An expired or invalid invitation: Ask the campaign administrator for a new invitation. They can add your email again from Your Team > Add New. Use the new email link.
- You can sign in, but the campaign is missing: Ask the administrator to check that your current login email appears on the campaign's team and has the needed permissions. If it is missing, they must add that email.
- You see a choice between Campaign, Party, Business, or Volunteer: Vottiv did not find a team for the email you signed in with. Check that you used the invited email address. If you did, ask the administrator to check your team access.
The video guides below show sign-in and the tools that may be available to you.
