Direct Mail Postcards

Introduction to Direct Mail Postcards in Vottiv

Direct mail is one of the most effective ways to connect with voters at home. With Vottiv, you can create, customize, and send postcards to your targeted voter groups—all from one platform.

You can choose from different postcard sizes, upload your own design using official templates, and review the preview before sending. Postcards are printed and mailed directly through the platform with all-inclusive pricing.

Status Emails: Order Confirmations & Daily Digests

After you place an order, Vottiv keeps you posted with two kinds of emails:

  1. Order confirmation — Sent immediately after checkout. Includes the campaign name and order reference, postcard size and recipient count, order total, and a link to the order detail page in your Vottiv portal.

  2. Daily status digest — Sent once a day per organization, but only when a mail set's status has actually changed. Each mail set is summarized by the majority status of its pieces, so if most of a 5,000-piece order is already in the mail, the digest reflects that rather than waiting on a handful of stragglers. The subject line includes the most important status across your active orders so you can scan your inbox at a glance.

Statuses You'll See

  • Submitted — Order received and queued for production.

  • In Production — Pieces are being printed and addressed.

  • In the Mail — Pieces are with the postal service.

  • Delivered — Confirmed delivered to recipients.

  • Issue — A problem with a subset of pieces (returned, undeliverable, etc.). The portal detail view explains the breakdown.

Who Receives Them

Both the order confirmation and the daily digest go to Organization Admins who have Direct mail emails enabled in their notification preferences. To opt in or out, open Account → Notifications and use the Direct mail column. See Manage Your Notification Email Preferences for details.

Order Detail Page

Every email links back to the order detail page in your Vottiv portal, where you can see piece-by-piece status (not just the rollup), front and back design previews, recipient counts by status, and the date of first mail drop when applicable.

USPS delivery confirmation lags actual delivery by a day or two for many ZIP codes. Vottiv reflects what the carrier reports — give it 48–72 hours after expected delivery before flagging an issue.
