This guide will walk you through how to use your volunteer account. Depending on what your campaign has enabled, you may have access to some or all of the following tools:

  • Volunteer Homepage

  • Canvassing

  • Voter Lookup

  • Calling Voters

  • Sending Text Messages

Follow the steps below or watch the videos at the bottom of the article to get started.

Volunteer Homepage

When you log in, you’ll land on your homepage.

  • At the top, you’ll see the campaign you’re working with.

  • Use the menu on the left-hand side to navigate to tasks like canvassing, lookup, calling, or SMS.

Canvassing

  1. Click the Canvassing tab on the left.

  2. You’ll see a list of canvasses created by your campaign.

  3. Select the canvass you’re assigned to.

  4. To invite canvassers:

    • Copy the link and share it directly. They’ll use the six-digit code to join.

    • Or download the QR code invitation, which can be printed and scanned by volunteers for quick access.

The canvassing link opens the web app, and the six-digit code connects them to that specific canvass.

Voter Lookup

If your campaign has enabled voter lookup:

  1. Click the Lookup tab.

  2. Search for voters by:

    • Name

    • Address

    • City

    • Zip code

    • Precinct

    • County

This tool helps you confirm details about individual voters in your district.

Calling Voters

If you’re assigned to phone banking:

  1. Click the Calling tab.

  2. Select the call campaign (e.g., Get Out the Vote – March 18).

  3. For the best results:

    • Use earbuds or a headset with a mic.

    • Call from a quiet room with strong Wi-Fi.

    • Avoid using only laptop speakers or noisy spaces.

How the screen is organized:

  • Left side (or top on mobile): Voter details (name, party, phone numbers).

  • Middle: Call script and call button.

  • Right side (or bottom on mobile): After-call work (notes, tags, opt-outs).

Steps to make a call:

  1. Select a number to call (cell or landline).

  2. Hit Call and follow the provided script.

  3. After the call:

    • Hit Complete → Next Voter.

    • If the voter requests no further contact, choose Opt Out.

    • Add notes or tags if needed (e.g., “Donor”).

Sending Text Messages

If you’ve been asked to text voters:

  1. Click the SMS tab.

  2. Select the text campaign.

  3. At the top, you’ll see:

    • The message being sent

    • Number of recipients left

    • Cost per message

    • Available credits

To send:

  • Click Send. Each text requires a human click.

  • After sending, the next voter loads automatically.

  • Tip: Keep your mouse or finger in the same spot and continue clicking for faster sending.
